Well, I got the Gomadic Universal Car Vent Mount and glad to say it’s a fairly good product for positioning your Droid 2 (or any other  smartphone) at slightly lower than eye level.

There’s a slew of windshield car mounts out there but I don’t like them much especially because I have a SUV and it’s a big “reach” for me if my Droid 2 is located on the windshield.

This Droid 2 Car Mount from Gomadic was perfect for my purposes and it’s really easy to access my Droid 2.  I even was watching YouTube videos while in traffic, which was really cool. (and yup, don’t do that when you are driving, I am a smartphone expert so…)

Anyways, this Gomadic Car Vent Mount allows you to mount your Droid 2 virtually on any car AC vents and allows for 360 degrees of turns so you can view it in landscape or vertically.

(You can attach the top piece to your AC vent then the bottom piece will hold the Car Mount in vertical position.)

The piece that attaches to the car vent is a bit flimsy but it works for what it is.  This is the best car mount I’ve found so far that satisfies my proximity to the phone while still being high enough for me to use it easily.

Of course, I will have more hands-on reviews of other Droid 2 car mounts coming up later next week so watch out for that too.

And yeah, if you don’t have a car mount for your Droid 2, it’s about time you should get one as Droid 2 is one helluva device for GPS navigating and also if your car has stereo input jacks you can hook up your Droid 2 to your car’s stereo and listen to internet radio on the go, no more FM/satellite radio needed anymore, thank you very muchy.

And lastly, getting a “universal” car mount is a highly a great idea especially given the fact that there will be more new smartphones introduced in the next 5 years than ever before.

Why buy a new car mount every time you get a new phone?  My point exactly.

Today I got the Droid 2 Media Dock and glad to say it’s a really good media dock for my new Droid 2.  Actually this one is the Droid 1 Media Dock but works perfectly with my new Droid 2.

The only thing is that you can’t use any cases with the Droid 2 Dock but oh well, the Media Dock works flawlessly otherwise.

The best part about this Droid 2 Media Dock?  Is that it comes with a micro USB cable and wall charger so all that is included in its low price of $15.49 on Amazon.
